ODI Annual Report 2021 Launch

The Open Doors Annual Report for 2021 was launched by Chairperson Francesca McDonagh, CEO of Bank of Ireland, sharing the results of a busy and successful year for the organisation. “In 2021, the Open Doors Initiative and its company members helped 41,870 individual people to successfully complete an intervention led by a participant company. And these interventions increased the employment prospects of individuals through the development or enhancement of market relevant skills”.

Open Doors CEO, Jeanne McDonagh, spoke about the people supported by Open Doors: “Our participants are the reason for our work. We are delighted to hear about their success stories and how the work of ourselves and our members impact positively on their lives. Their feedback makes the work worthwhile and shows the real qualitative benefit of what we do.”

Mark Mellett, Vice Admiral DSM (Rtd), former Defence Forces Chief of Staff and founder of Green Compass, shared his thoughts about the importance of the work of Open Doors: “Companies do need to be diverse and creative with lateral thinking, that means hiring people who don't mirror you but bring difference to the table. Fostering that type of recruitment culture takes a person-centric approach where you really need to see the barriers an applicant might face even though they have the skills to do a job.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the launch and special thanks to our speakers, Francesca and Mark, for their time and words of experience. Please download a copy of the report here.
